MONTPELLIER AGGLOMÉRATION BIC DESIGNATED AS 2007 INCUBATOR OF THE YEAR

The Montpellier Agglomération Business and Incubation Centre (BIC) was elected the world's best start-up incubator in the 2007 National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) contest. The result was pronounced on April 3rd during NBIA's 21st International Conference on Business Incubation. NBIA is the world's leading organization for professionals in the field of advancing business incubation and entrepreneurship. This is the first time a European incubator has won the award.

MONTPELLIER AGGLOMÉRATION BIC OBTAINS SOFT LANDINGS LABEL

Montpellier Agglomération BIC keeps on building its international foundation! The first French incubator to win NBIA's Incubator of the Year award, the BIC was certified as a Soft Landings incubator in May. This international incubator label shows recognition for BIC's efforts to assist international companies, which is the new challenge facing the world's leading incubators.

OUR METHOD

For nearly 20 years, the Montpellier Agglomération BIC has been developing a business accompaniment programme for innovative startups. The BIC's method consists of providing start-up entrepreneurs with a complete and coherent set of services: experienced consultants, specific information tools, offices space in incubators, targeted training courses, and introduction to useful business networks.

INCUBATION

The BIC is responsible for two start-up incubators: Cap Alpha for startups in technology and healthcare, and Cap Omega, which is specifically dedicated to ICT firms.

RESULTS

Since 1987, Montpellier Agglomération BIC has accompanied 400 startups. Over 80% of those companies were still in activity after three years (compared to the national average of 63,4%), which provides an eloquent testimonial about the efficiency of a proven accompaniment method.
